Winds of Change

Well, it's been one heck of a year! I am eager to say good bye to 2007 and welcome in 2008. There's been a lot of changes in our family this year and with this coming year we will have a new addition. We are still trying to decide on a name for her...so many choices! My heart still aches for the losses we had, but I am looking forward to the new things to come. I hope your new year is great and remember to be safe, be well, and take good care of your hands! Love to you all!

Busy, busy, busy!

I don't have much time to write these days, but I wanted to sneak a minute to tell you all that I hope you have a great Christmas and New Year. I will catch you all after the first of the year! Love to you all!

Surprises from vacation

Normally when I get home from vacation it takes me a day or so to unpack, do laundry, hand out souvenirs, and shuffle through and download pictures from my camera to my computer. Last night I finally had the chance to get to my pictures to try to decide which ones were the best ones to post on my blog. I started viewing them as a slide show but was not really paying attention. I thought I caught a glimpse of something odd, but knowing that I wasn't really into it, I let it go and kept on going. This morning I went through them again to write a new post (I hate reading "time time time" from some pushy relatives of mine) about my trip and Thanksgiving. I could have spit my coffee all over my computer screen with what I found. Sometime during my trip an anonymous person used my camera and took some compromising pictures of them selves. I am only telling you this because at first I didn't believe it. But, after looking them over very carefully, and knowing what I do about this being, I thought I better post them so that we all know the truth. You wouldn't believe me anyway if I didn't show them to you. Please keep an open mind and try not to judge. I should have known it would come to this, but when you hear their sweet innocent voice, you just don't picture anything like this ever happening. This may not be suitable for children. Use at your own discretion. And remember, we are all family here. Our love is unconditional.

Oh Happy Days!

Kyle called last night and said that she had been accepted to Cheyenne and she would be transferred sometime this week...then I got a text from her sister saying that Kyle was shipping out today!!! I can't believe she's actually going to Cheyenne! She will have a little bit of freedom (after being earned, of course) and she can start the process of being back out in the world again! The facility she is going to has a great support system and she's excited to be able to go to McDonald's again! I am so proud of her and the long road she's already been up and conquered. I can't wait to see her again!

Wait! Before I go....

This is what Kyle sang to me last night:

Happy Birthday to you! You look good in a moo-moo! You smell like rotten tofu! Happy Birthday to you!

*sigh* I don't want to look good in a moo-moo. *sigh*

On the flip side...
She will find out the 26th if she is accepted to Cheyenne. They have an empty bed and everything looks good for her transfer. YEAH! She sounded very happy and made me laugh the whole 30 minutes we talked. I just love her.

Ok, that's it. Have a great week!

I've Been Tagged!

Ms. Creek tagged me. I don't want to go into the details, but these are the books I found that had my name in it. My favorite is the "Lolly Name in History." I might even have to buy it for myself...just figure out where the heck it comes from! I'm choosing not to tag anyone else since everyone I know is on Ms. Creek's blog and I don't want to tag random blogs...doesn't sound like very much fun to me!

What $10.00 is worth these days

What will $10 buy you? Here's a list we came up with:

10 spice chicken sandwiches at McDonalds
9 loaves of bread
8 packs of gum
7 bottles of diet Pepsi
6 Krispy Kream donuts
5 boxes of toothpicks
4 pair of socks at Footlocker
3 gallons of gas
2 white mocha venti coffees at Starbucks
1 CD on iTunes

When it comes time to spend your $10.00, I hope these options help you. We all have priceless memories that can't be measured in monetary value. What ever you choose to do with your inheritance remember life is about the time you spend with your family and friends. Not your house, not your car, not your job. When your last days fall upon you, what will you think about? I bet you $10.00 it's not money...unless you want to put ME in your will! I love you all very much! Remember what Grandma Lil stood for and all the lessons she taught us. That's the best inheritance I have ever gotten.

Pink eye???

That's right! This morning Kaylee woke up with two pink eyes. Now, usually we love that color around here, but this color of pink we hate! Kaylee and I spent 2 hours in the emergency room and got to see all kinds of equipment and machines, but that's not the field trip we wanted to be on. Her doctor was very nice and explained everything that she needed to do. He gave us drops for her eyes and sent us on our way. She will be out of school for 2 days. Luckily, Lizzy hasn't shown any signs of having it. We are all being very careful so we don't spread it, but Lizzy really really wants to play with Kaylee and doesn't understand why Kaylee has to stay on the couch. I want to keep Kaylee contained in one area so I can bleach the rest of the house. The last thing we need around here is a pink family!

That time of year

Last night I finished reading "for one more day" by Mitch Albom. You might know him from "Tuesdays with Morrie" or "The Five People You Meet in Heaven." I originally just picked it up for something to read, but by the time I finished the book, I was crying. What would you do if you could spend one more day with a lost loved one? This time of year is always hard on our family, but this year seems to be worse. With the loss of Beckie and the boys, Leo, and now Grandma Lil, I feel that the holidays aren't worth it anymore. This book was about loss and the emotions that go with it. What would I do if I had one more day with Leo? What questions would I ask? What would we talk about? How many hugs could I squeeze into one more day? With the anniversary of his suicide tomorrow hanging over me, I can't help but wonder what that "one more day" would be like. What ever we did, I know it would be time well spent.

Picture Day!

Yesterday was picture day at school for the girls. They were very excited that they finally got to wear a dress to school and told me I HAD to take a picture of them. They are looking more and more like their dad everyday. I guess that isn't so bad...

Our new addition

This is baby Wilson. The doctor couldn't tell if we are having a boy or girl yet, but everything looks good and healthy. The girls are very excited and that they finally got to see a picture of their new baby. Looks like we will all be seeing our new baby in April. We can't wait!

The Big 3

Seems like my baby was just born yesterday and on Friday she will be 3 years old. I can't believe it! I can remember the day she was born, her first smile, her first steps, her first real owie, and now her mile stone birthday. Turning 3 means she will officially be in pre-school and not just day care. It means she gets her own stereo to play her own Disney Cd's. It means she uses the potty like a big girl and she has to give up the Binky. She is going to be fine with all of that, except the last one...the Binky. I'm not sure how it's all going to come down, but by the end of this weekend, the Binky will be gone...I hope!

Grandma Lill

This is the way I remember you. Your smile brightened many sittuations for me. Your laugh took the bad things and made them disappear. I learned the best lessons in life from you and I am passing them on to my girls. I love you very much, Grandma, and I will miss you with all my heart. Thank you for being the best grandma a girl could ever have.

Happy Birthday Leo

For some reason your birthday hit me hard this year. I miss you so much and I wish you were here to give me one of your famous bear hugs. So much has happened in the last 2 years and my family doesn't seem complete without you. I love you very much and I miss you with all my heart.
Your daughter,
Lolly

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Today my mom turns...ahem...29...again. I am still amazed how young she looks! I took a close look at her this last weekend trying to find some kind of aging...and didn't find any. She's as beautiful this birthday as she was 20 years ago. I admire her strength and charisma and she almost always has a smile on her face now days. I love you mom! Happy Birthday and may the next...ahem...29 years be as good to you as the last ones have!

Meanie's Stay

This was taken right after I caught him jumping on the bed...notice the "What? I wasn't doing anything" look.

Meanie checking out my new phone. He was trying to call Mawmaw but she didn't answer.
Meanie ate cheese pizza with the girls. He had his very own plate that he picked out while he was here. It turns out that he loves Pooh! Who would have known?
While I was doing laundry Meanie had to "frolic" in the socks. It made him laugh and laugh! What a silly dragon!

Finally, Meanie is now addicted to Starbucks coffee. He had to get up much earlier than he was used to, but the coffee helped! Meanie will post the rest of his pictures on his blog soon. We miss you Meanie! Come back to visit us soon!

Post Secret

As you all know I am a fan of Post Secret. Until today I thought I owned every book...and now I can't wait to read the next one. Recently Frank, the author of Postsecret.com, added a mailing list for his updates and tour dates. I encourage you to sign up and tell everyone you know about his site. I have been moved every week by the post cards he puts on his site and it has helped me through the very rough times in the last 2 years. We never really know what people are going through and I believe this site can help. Please join me in applauding Frank and all the good work he does so unselfishly. I can't imagine what it must take to keep up with all the post cards and posting every week. Great job, Frank! Job well done.

If Men Vaccuumed

A friend sent me this in an e-mail and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to share with all! However, if it was MY husband, it would be remote control or some kind of PlayStation game!

Susan and Jay Getz

This is Susan and Jay. They were married June 15, 2007. Susan and I have worked together for 13 years all together at the last 3 jobs we have had. We have been together through thick and thin and the good and the bad. We have supported each other through divorce, babies, and Wal-Mart. I am proud to say that she has found the love of her life and they are finally FINALLY married! Congratulations Susan and Jay!

Our first Minor League Baseball Game

The Ogden Raptors are our local Minor League Baseball team. Jason got tickets to the game tonight and so our family headed out to fight the crowds and dinosaur lovers to see our first game together.
The girls loved the chips and sodas and weren't too impressed with the hot dogs. We had ourselves a fun little picnic before the game started.
See how Lizzy is guarding her drink? That's Mommy's drink but she had her own...Mommy didn't have anymore soda about 4 minutes after this picture! Remind you of someone?

This is the scoreboard and to put a location to this field...it's almost directly side by side with the Mormon Temple in Ogden. I know, I didn't care about that either.
It's a really pretty stadium and this picture tells you how early we showed up to "beat the crowd." By the time the game got underway the whole stadium was full. It seats about 5000 people.
Another view of the park. It was rated the 4th best minor league ballpark by ballparks.com. The view of the mountains was spectacular and if we would have stayed until the end of the game, we would have had a beautiful sunset.
These are pitchers working out before the game. Not too rigorous, I would have to say.
And then they signed gloves and balls while the rest of their team ran around and warmed up.
This is ONE of the many pitchers. He's telling the staff guy that his girlfriend is in the audience (general seating). She got up and got one of the "better seats" right after this picture.
Then he went and talked to his co-pitcher buddy for a while...probably about his girlfriend! The rest of the team is still running around and warming up. I'm telling you that being a pitcher has its perks!
More autographs...lots of that going on.
This is the Raptors mascot, Ogie. He didn't look too scary. I always thought raptors were supposed to be scary. Not this one. He gave lots of hugs and high fives. If I wasn't the one behind the camera, I would have gone over and given him a hug.
And here's my Kaylee and husband with the local hero. We had to chase him down since there were so many kids wanting him. Lizzy was too scared of him to get a picture with him. I guess he could be pretty intimidating to a 2 year old.
We stayed for 3 full innings and decided to call it night. The girls weren't used to sitting that long. And, honestly, my butt was getting a bit numb! We had a great outing and my husband and I can't wait to go see one with just the two of us. Definitely worth doing again! I can't believe I just said that!
