Tis the season!

Quick update! The girls and I are having a great holiday vacation in Wyoming. We had a wonderful Christmas and are now looking forward to the new year. The girls were, of course, spoiled by all the grandparents and I have exhausted myself by trying to keep up on the "toy pickup." It's not easy! But they are having fun and can't wait for a warm day so they can go outside and make snow men. Hope you all had a great Christmas! Talk to you next year!

Uncle Dooter

How do I describe Uncle Dooter? I could say that he's tall. Yes, tall describes him very well. I could also say that he's very intelligent. We all know that, though. I could say that he has patience like no other person alive, he has compassion for even the small things, he has a heart of gold and a good sturdy shoulder for others to cry on. I could go on and on but the one thing I do want to say is:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE DOOTER!!!

I love you very much! Hope you have a great day!

Aunt Dellie

December 18th is my aunt Dellie Day's birthday. She has been there for me through thick and thin. She has never judged me or criticized any decisions I have made. She has always had an open mind and caring heart. I love you Dellie Day! Happy Birthday!

It happens in 3's

Within the last 24 hours 3 bad things have happened:

1. Wilbur is broken again. For those of you who don't know, Wilbur is Jason's BIG tv. I named it something else, which seems to fit lately...Big Flipping Mistake. We just put a lot of money into getting it fixed, and now it looks like we get to spend even more.

2. The heater went out in Jason's car. Not a good thing for this time of year!

3. My cell phone died! This morning when I tried to turn it on...sniff...it had a blank screen...sniff...and then just kind of moaned...sniff...and was gone. Can you please pass me a tissue? Sniff...it was a good phone...sniff...I need another tissue please...
Time to upgrade!!! I already know which one I want!

Tomorrow is another day, right?

Seven Random Things About Me

My mom, Celebration of Life, tagged me to blog about 7 unknown things about me. I have changed it to "7 random things" instead. Sorry Mom! Hope you don't mind!

1. We all know how I feel about Bon Jovi, but I also love Techno! A friend of mine introduced me to it and now I just can't get enough!

2. I have never walked on a beach...unless you count Sandy Beach in Pinedale...but I don't. Some day I will get to collect my own sea shells and drift wood!

3. I hate whip cream. Hate it! Can't stand it. The only time I have ever liked it was when I was pregnant.

4. My favorite candy bar is Almond Joy. Love the coconut, the almonds, and the chocolate! LOVE IT ALL!!

5. Many years ago my aunt Dellie Day gave me some of her salt and pepper shakers to start my own collection. I have since then given them back, but for some reason I am STILL getting them for gifts. I don't collect them any more.

6. I cross stitch as one of my hobbies. I never seem to get any of them done, but have lots of them started.

7. And last but not least....I LOVE the Raiders! They aren't having a very successful season this year, but I still love them! Oh, and I HATE the Broncos. Stupid donkeys!

Well, there you have it. Seven random things about me. Some you may already know, but I hope I caught you off guard with the rest!

I will call it Drifter

This piece of driftwood came with a note that said:

Laura,

This is honest to good, bonafide, genuine 1 of a kind, "driftwood" from the coast line of Bandon by the sea, OREGON. This was brought especially for you, 1,000 miles, across several states, upon your request. Please enjoy this little piece of "Oregon."

Don't you just LOVE presents! Thanks Susan!

Bed Fairies

I had an overwhelming memory come to mind recently. Do you remember the bed fairies? Mynetta and I were named that by Grandma Lil. When ever we would visit Grandma we would sneak into her room and make her bed. She never failed to act surprised. I miss the summers when all of the grandchildren would take turns visiting her and our aunts. I have great memories of the fort we all built behind her house. I still live by her rules that were drilled into our heads:

Never ever walk in grass above your knees...you can't see if there are snakes. Always stay where you can see home...you don't want to get lost. Don't go walking at night...you can't see if there are badgers near by.

I miss her. Lots.

It's good to be back! Love you all!

SURPRISE!!!

Well, well, well. Look who it is! I am finally FINALLY updating my blog. I am at my mom's this weekend cleaning up the mess that Bryan and I made when we did the remodel in her kitchen and am taking a break to play on her computer. There's so much to tell you in such a short time.
Brooklyn is now over 4 months old and I have nicknamed her my "Rolly Polly Chuncky Monkey Babbling Brook." She's such a happy baby...until she's hungry and then she's screaming bloody murder.
Kaylee is in first grade this year. The school district we live in is year round. She started in July and LOVES it. On her first day I asked her how school was and she said "Mom, it is so amazing!"
Elizabeth starts pre-school on Sept. 2nd. I have had fun with her the last couple months while Kaylee is at school. We have had some much needed one-on-one time and I'm going to miss her when she goes to school.
I have decided to stay home and be a full time Mom and not go back to work. It's taking me some time to figure out a schedule and activities to keep me busy. I haven't been able to do this before and still feel like I'm playing hooky from work. It's been great having the summer off, though!
We have had a great summer and I can't believe it's almost over. Hope you've had a great summer too! Talk to you all soon...
