My Kyle
10 years ago I was told to "Stay away from Kyle, she's mean." I took that as a challenge, not a warning, and made it my goal to befriend her. I momentarily had second thoughts and almost turned and ran when I introduced myself and she gave me her famous glare with flared out nostrils...but then she showed me her beautiful smile, and I knew we would be friends. I never knew our friendship would go through so many obstacles, though. Kyle started off as my drinking buddy. We partied like it was going out of style! (Yes, we reminisced about those crazy times this last weekend!) Then, she turned into my shoulder to cry on when I divorced my ex (Ms. Creek and husband called him T.I.M. which she will have to explain). We were room mates for almost a year, and she always listened to me whine and cry when ever I felt the need. She was my Maid of Honor when Jason and I got married. She was the first one to the hospital when Kaylee was born. She was and still is my girls' Godmother. She is my sister, my hero, my best friend. This last weekend we "got back to basics" and just talked and laughed and, of course, cried. Neither one of us drink any more, but our friendship is just as strong now as it was 10 years ago. You hardly ever see that anymore.
